Doubleday Insurance Agency
110 SE Grant St, Ste 203
Ankeny, IA 50021
Lew Doubleday began selling insurance in 1966 in Ankeny and the surrounding communities for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, then the world's largest life insurance company. In 1968 Lew began selling "all lines" through Farmers Insurance Group where he was one of the top agents in Iowa for eight years. In 1975, because of the way a client was treated by Farmers, Lew decided he could better serve his clients as an "independent" agent and did so by representing a number of companies. Believing that anyone can sell you a policy, Lew strives to be the best when you have a claim. This is 'the time of proof, Lew believes. This is when the companies are separated, some pay promptly and fairly, some do not. "While no company pays every claim, we want to represent only those companies who pay what they do owe promptly and fairly, without hassle to our clients". In 1980 Lew incorporated and renamed the agency Doubleday Insurance Agency, Inc. and we moved to our current office at 110 SE Grant Street in Ankeny.
Chris joined his Mom, Dad and Brother in the family business in 1997, only after he put in almost 13 years at the Polk County Treasurers Office. He is licensed for Personal Lines and Commercial Lines, as well as Life/Health. Chris is sincerely here to help you with ALL your insurance needs. Chris and his wife, Shelly, have two children, Ryan, 22, and Kaci, 8 (no...not a type-o, she is 8). While Kaci is keeping all three of them on their toes, Chris still finds time to enjoy Ryan’s sport’s activities and collect and enjoy his music on records and cds.
Chad joined his Mom and Dad, here at Doubleday Insurance Agency, back in 1996. He is currently licensed and able to help you with all of your Personal Lines needs. Before he started his journey here he did lots of different things (jack of all trades). Chad loves the outdoors and plows driveways in the winter for friends and neighbors. When Chad is not here helping you, or at home with his wife, Becky, and his two girls, Abby, 12, and Emily, 10, you can probably find him out and about riding his motorcycle.
Denise came to us from Cognizant Technology Solutions in Des Moines where she fielded inbound auto and home insurance calls from agents. She also counselled agents and clients on policy coverage options. She quoted premiums for agents for their clients also.
Before Cognizant Denise was employed by Nationwide Insurance in Des Moines. While at Nationwide she applied auto and home insurance knowledge to assist with billing, credit and premium changes.
Denise and her family reside here in Ankeny.
